Whether you’re a vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, trying to convert or just trying meatless somedays, there are still those days where you just crave a good, comforting ‘burger’, so we tried (most of) Vancouver’s veggie burgers to tell you which ones are the best (coming from a former vegan and a full carnivore).
5 Belgard Kitchen
Located in a brewery and winery warehouse, Belgard Kitchen is a great backdrop for any reason to eat and drink, but even more so when the food is representative of its mature, rustic and poised character. The Veggie Burger is just that. Made with a house rosemary portobello patty, aged white cheddar, pickled onions, sunflower seed pesto aioli, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, ciabatta, it will make you feel sophisticated while you eat it. And so will the seasoned popcorn.

4 Meet in Yaletown
Meet is one of the most popular vegetarian group of restaurants in Vancouver with locations in Gastown, Main and Yaletown. Mostly known for their versions of ‘comfort’ vegetarian food, their Might Mac Burger is beyond comfort. Made with the Beyond Burger, it’s full on for when you just need your food to give you a big warm hug.

3 TurF
TurF is fitness studio, shop and cafe/restaurant, so if you’re wanting clean, health-focused food, this is the spot. The Three Point Oh Burger is not only really tasty, it’s also really healthy with their house made patty with black bean, eggplant, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, walnut, oat, tahini and spices. You can get it on a fresh seedy bun or opt for a sweet potato instead for the gluten-free version.

2 Tera V
Tera V’s known all specifically for their meat-free burgers, by everyone, including the celebs that come to town. They have around 10 different veggie burgers to choose from and make their own patties (they also have the Beyond patty, if that’s your thing). Their No-Bull Burger is just that – a simple, wholesome, like you’re at a bbq, burger with the classic toppings. They don’t have any fryers so you can get delicious fries or yam fried, baked.

1 The Arbor
The newest on the list, is Main Street’s The Arbor. The sister company of The Acorn and known for their delicious vegetarian and vegan menu. Everything they have on the menu, is made in house, from the ketchup to their vegan buns. The BBQ Burger is so complex, yet every flavour works together to create a mind-blowing experience in your mouth.
