Vancouver lives for the outdoors, whether it’s hiking, biking, or relaxing on a patio – sipping, eating and preferably with the sun shining. That explains why we have so many and why this list was very difficult to pick the best of the best, but here it is (in no particular order)…
22 Mahony’s Tavern
All the traditions of a casual Irish pub, with the west coast stylings of good food and even better views. Mahony’s Tavern in False Creek is a summertime classic and the perfect destination to hang out at on the water. It’s located right on the False Creek seawall so it’s the perfect meeting spot by boat or fuel pitstop on a stroll along the water.
21 Fairmont Pacific Rim
Born out of Covid restrictions, Coal Harbour’s Fairmont Pacific Rim (Pac Rim to locals) set up a beautiful patio right outside, in collaboration with Westbank, who’s dedicated to beauty, art and architecture. There is an elevated food truck, live music, IG-worthy backdrops and rosé that flows all day.
20 Reflections: The Garden Terrace
Known as the garden oasis in the heart of the city, Reflections is one of the most beautiful patios that will whisk you away to a far away place (probably in some classy European town).
19 H Tasting Lounge
With views of the harbour and north shore mountains, a whimsical setting and some of the boujeest cocktails and afternoon teas, H Tasting Lounge is a must for a sun-drenched day in your Sunday Best.
18 1931 Gallery Bistro
The 1931 Gallery Bistro is one of Vancouver’s best hidden gems. Located at Vancouver’s iconic Art Gallery, the bistro offers dine-in or take-out options and artsy takes on classic cocktails.

Newly(ish) opened with the amazing views of English Bay, we have a feeling CRAFT will be the hot spot of the summer, because who doesn’t love beer, burgers, pizza and beach?
15 Lift Bar + Grill
Possibly one of the most underrated patios, Lift gets its name because it’s literally on stilts in the harbour. A great place for some snacks, wine and enjoy the backdrops of the west coast.
A brew house, arcade, games room, lounge, restaurant, patio, basically Brewhall is your one-stop shop for fun. It’s also a rare brewery that actually uses fresh and local ingredients in all their menu items.
13 The Roof at Black + Blue
Black and Blue’s The Roof has been a staple in Vancouver for a very long time and it’s no wonder why. The garden oasis rooftop patio is so warm and welcoming with fireplaces, a retractable roof, and fabulous cocktails. You’ll immediately feel like you’ve traveled somewhere else.
12 The Victor
On top of the Parq Casino and Douglas Hotel with picture-perfect views of the Vancouver skyline, BC Place, next to a pond, you’ll find The Victor. A swanky surf n’ turf restaurant that has expanded their patio for extra enjoyment this summer.
11 Seasons in the Park
Located in one of the most beautiful parks in Vancouver – Queen Elizabeth – Seasons in the Park is an icon and a beautiful destination for charcuterie, wine and views of the city from afar.
10 Joe Fortes
With one of the best happy hours in the city, an oyster bar and a garden rooftop patio made to soak up all of the sunshine – it’s no surprise Joe Fortes is a popular hangout, especially during the summer months.
9 The Keg
The place to see and be seen, the rooftop at The Keg in Yaletown is always in hot demand and open year-round. In addition to the surrounding urban skyline, many set their eyes on The Keg for its happy hour specials.
8 Brix & Mortar
Brix has not one, but two patios and one of them is so beautiful that people get married there. Chandeliers, greenery and exposed brick are the perfect setting to any patio day (or night).
7 Earl’s Robson
Another underrated patio spot in Vancouver is Earl’s on Robson. The back patio rooftop feels just like a backyard with chill vibes and the best happy hour in town.
6 Joey Shipyards
Joey Shipyards is one of their newest locations and latest addition to the up-and-coming shipyards space in Lower Lonsdale. Elevated above the water with views of downtown and all your fav Joey food and drinks.
5 Local Kits
Kits Beach’s local watering hole (hence the name Local) is a hot spots, even if you don’t live in Kits and actually cross a bridge. If you’re looking for great Caesars, amazing handhelds and a good time, this is it.
4 The Beach House
West Vancouver’s best spot, just got even better (and bigger) with an extended oceanside patio to accommodate more sun-chasers, where you can find peace and serenity outside the city.
Canopies and yachts and sunshine, oh my. Dockside feels like somewhere in the south of France, without the plane ticket and the 9 hour travel. Perfect for some Sunday Funday mimosas.
Feel free as a bird sitting in a giant birdcage. The Glowbal Group is a legendary in Vancouver and this patio is one of the reasons why. It’s class and style and one of the best weekend brunches, with complimentary mini donuts and smoothie shots.
One of the oldest restaurants in Vancouver, Giardino’s garden patio knows what perfection is. A tuscan-inspired experience from the decor and artwork to the mediterranean dishes, it’s truly a magical spot.
