Winnipeg’s FESTIVAL DU VOYAGEUR Is Canada’s Best Winter Festival

What’s more Canadian than a 10-day indoor/outdoor winter party in the middle of the prairies?

Festival du Voyageur has been one of the best winter festivals in Canada for the last 50 years. The festival is to celebrate pride of the french canadians and the culture and history of the first inhabitants who settled at the forks of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers. The French fur traders became known as les voyageurs, using canoes to carry furs and supplies to outposts. The festival has live music, dancing, snow sculptures, period food, a sugar shack, ice bars, outposts with a peek into the lives of voyageurs and the best parties in the city.
