The countdown to Christmas is on! Thanksgiving and Halloween have come and gone, Fall sports have begun, TV shows are back on, and umbrellas are in hand. Get through the penultimate month of the year in style with some fun events around Vancouver:

10 Umbrella Party

This might be a bit different from the dancing and Singin’ In The Rain from the bygone Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds era! Vancouver’s first Umbrella Party invites you to a rainy outdoor urban dance party with beats and umbrellas. Bring your umbrella, rain jacket, gum boots and best moves!

Canada Rugby

Friday, November 3 @ 7:00pm

Canada hosts its second Senior Men’s Fifteens match at BC Place against the Maori All Blacks. The Maori perform their traditional war cry called “Haka” as they are the indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand. Doors open at 6pm and kick-off is at 7:00pm; tickets start at $20.

Canada Women’s National Soccer

Burnaby-born national treasure and professional athlete Christine Sinclair once again leads the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team into battle against fierce rival USA. The Americans are currently ranked 1st by FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. While this is a friendly match, the 2012 London Summer Olympics heartbreaking loss which resulted in Silver remains a scar by Canadian sports fans. The team also walked the podium in the 2016 Rio Games with Bronze. Over 22,000 people are expected to attend the match at BC Place.

Cornucopia Festival

Whistler’s main stage celebration of all things food and drink features special culinary events, dining experiences, workshops, parties and more at various locations. The festival runs for 11 days and nights.
