Close out the year with a bang! Check out these fun concerts and events around town this month. Music headliners this month include Jay-Z, Armin Van Buuren, The Killers, Jann Arden, Kenny G and Dianna Krall. Other events to check out include Jerry Seinfeld in stand-up comedy action as well as Cirque du Soleil’s Kurious production.

Orpheum Theatre

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra features Pops conductor/arranger Jeff Tyzik with vocals from Lisa Vroman and Doug LaBrecque. Classic Broadway is showcased including musical theatre hits from Andrew Llyod-Webber and Rodgers & Hammerstein.


27 Handel’s Messiah

Vancouver Playhouse

Vancouver Cantata Singers presents Handel’s Messiah in Vancouver. Now in its 60th anniversary season, the choral ensemble is joined by the Pacific Baroque Orchestra in this intimate and powerful performance.

26 Stanley Park Walk

Stanley Park

Take a walk in the park! Join the Stanley Park Ecology Society on their Extreme Makeover: Ecosystem Restoration walk-through. The guided tour visits ecological enhancement projects taken on by the society and explores challenges and successes of environmental restoration.

Jazz icon Kenny G plays some contemporary classics. The Miracles Holiday & Hits Tour stops in Vancouver and then onto Victoria!

Glasgow rock band Franz Ferdinand is celebrating 15 years with a world tour ahead of their fifth studio album slated for release in February 2018. They are joined by Sally Dige.

Grammy-nominees The Killers released their fifth studio album Wonderful Wonderful earlier this year. They stop in Vancouver after a tour leg in Europe.

American R&B singer Jhene Alko is on tour supporting her latest release “Trip”. The 29-year-old hails from LA and is joined by Willow Smith, Kodie Shane and Kitty Cash. She’s also a supporting act on Lana Del Rey’s LA to the Moon Tour (2018).

Experience Lumière… an annual event inspired by light and artistic expression, driven by community and connection.

Lighting up Vancouver’s iconic West End, English Bay and Jim Deva Plaza come alive this December with a series of light art installations, performances and community building initiatives.

Lumiere is free, open to all, and kicks off Saturday December 2nd.

Cirque du Soleil

The touring production of Kurious by Cirque du Soleil first premiered in Montreal during 2014. It follows an inventor who explores dimensions and human imagination.

The 15th Annual Shiny Fuzzy Muddy Fine Art, Craft & Design Show takes place at Heritage Hall on December 9th and 10th.
