Goodbye (and good riddance) to May and a warm welcome to June – please be good to us. Summer ’17 is nearly here! There’s plenty of fun things to do around town this month including a whole week devoted to Italian-style cocktails, an afternoon with David Foster, a bike rave, a pool party and FREE outdoor movie:

It’s the most wonderful time as year as Italian-style cocktail lovers flock to various bars and restaurants around Vancouver in support of local charities. Bartenders will be stirring up lots of gin, sweet vermouth and Campari in classic Negronis and signature iterations. Negroni Week is celebrated globally to raise money for charities.
10 Bike Rave

Nom nom nom! YVR Food Fest celebrates summer and food culture in the city over Canada Day long weekend between the Cambie Street Bridge and Olympic Village. There will be 80+ food vendors, a craft beer garden, live music & DJ’s, open air markets and more!

Grab a drink and get geeky at the next installment of Science World After Dark – Made in Canada. The adult-only evening features a beer and wine bar and admission to Made in Canada galleries. There is also a screening of MacGillivray Freeman’s latest film about “amazing feats of human engineering and design”.

Opera, ballet and burlesque all in one! East Van Opera presents their inaugural production “Alma – The Story of the Girl Who Glowed” by composer Allison Cociani. The post-apocalyptic story is about a young girl with special powers and an evil group of people who capture her for profit.
