LoadingAdd to favorites

The past year-ish has been hugely successful with new and innovative restaurant openings in Vancouver. It’s hard to find the time to check them all out. We got you.. Here are some of our faves.

Keep checking in as we show you all the rest.

5 Royal Dinette

Retro is back and in the best way possible, from turquoise chairs and canned veggies décor to the simple and quality menu. The focus is on truly locally-sourced food, that’s fresh and uncomplicated, but innovative. The ever-changing menu of seasonal items never disappoints. except when you get hooked on one of the dishes. The open concept kitchen keeps the chefs honest and true to what goes on your plate. Royal Dinette also has one of the best Happy Hours in the city, which brings all the downtown workers in at 4:30pm for Local craft beer, wine and classic European cocktails.

Eat: Pasta – it’s fresh and made daily
Drink: Burning Man – Kombucha cocktail

MON – FRI 11:30 AM – 2 PM | 5 PM – 10 PM
SAT 5PM – 10PM

4 Forage

Not only does this West End bistro participate in the farm-to-table movement, they’re also into zero waste efforts and being completely sustainable and supporting all local from food to drinks. The atmosphere will also welcome you into its comfortable and casual setting – they even have picnic tables in a courtyard so you can truly feel connected to the outdoors.

Eat: Mushrooms on grilled caraway rye bread (we’re obsessed!)
Drink: ‘Sweet’ cocktail

SAT – SUN 6:30 AM – 2 PM | 5PM – 10 PM

3 Osteria Savio Volpe

There’s a reason this retro Italian eatery has been cleaning up in the best restaurant awards department from companies like Air Canada. Their take on fresh and authentic stays true to a proper osteria. Ingredients are local and pasta is handmade, as it should be. From the crackling fireplace to the 70s-inspired living-room-style décor, you’ll truly feel at home, but with better service.

Eat: Pasta toritglioni (obvs) and Kale Salad
Drink: Donati Camillo Lambrusco (sparkling red)

MON – SUN 5 PM – 10 PM

2 Bodega on Main

A revival piece from the original La Bodega, Bodega on Main is modern, eclectic and a great place to spend all night with friends. The staff is warm and welcoming and the food pays a solid homage to authentic Spanish tapas. It was also voted #1 Sangria in town (by us). Perfect date night spot with bae.

Eat: Paella Mixta, Chorizo a la parilla, Patatas Bravas
Drink: Sangria

MON – SUN 11 AM – 12 AM

1 Per se Social Corner

A 3-under-1-roof eatery with a café, restaurant and lounge. The extremely high ceilings and beautifully natural décor is something straight out of a designer homes magazine (in which I’d like to live). The international staff range from Latin America to Italy to Japan and everywhere in between and will stop what they’re doing to make you feel welcome into their home. The food is made from quality ingredients. The pizza, baked in a traditional stone oven is some of the simplest and freshest. A DJ spins every Thursday – Saturday so get the crew together and head down.

Eat: Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, Hummus and flatbread
Drink: Pelo Lindo cocktail
