Alison Boulier is a woman on a mission, capturing life as she sees it, one impactful shot at a time. If you live in Vancouver, odds are she has taken your photo. She has a distinct, unpretentious style of shooting and has a true sense of what it means to be a photographer that is beyond her years.

Here’s what you should know about this North Vancouver creative:

7  People are her major source of inspo

Being able to establish a real connection with whoever she’s shooting, is important in order for Alison to produce images that are honest and that will leave a lasting impression.

6  The West End is her favorite backdrop

With a mix of residential buildings and brick and mortar, a vibrant village, immediate access to the beach and world-renowned Stanley Park, it’s no surprise Alison loves exploring and showcasing the West End and all its hidden gems.

5  Pisces, power!

Deep and intuitive, people born under the Pisces sign, tend to have a natural ability for all things creative – from photographers to marketing creatives, so it’s no surprise that Alison is a Pisces herself!

Some famous Pisces creatives include Rihanna, Steve Jobs, and Spike Lee.

4 Her favourite Vancouver restaurant is a vegan restaurant

A self-taught home chef and vegetarian (watch her Instagram stories for some mouth-watering recipes), when she’s not cooking at home, Alison gravitates towards The Acorn on Main Street.  She’s a big fan of how artistically the dishes are put together and it helps that the food tastes as good as it looks.

3 Famous people have been some of her subjects

Lil Pump, A$AP Ferg, and Riverdale’s KJ Apa are just a few on her celebrity roster.

2  She has three tips for taking a good photo

2. “For the love of God, don’t cut off people’s feet”
3. Be vulnerable.  You have to let yourself be vulnerable if you expect people to be vulnerable.”

1 Success = peer respect

For Alison, it’s not always about the fame or the money.  In fact, what matters most to her is recognition and respect from her fellow creatives and peers.
