6 She’s a BC girl
Rimpy is a first generation Canadian, growing up in Kitimat, British Columbia! Her dad moved to Canada as a young man with very little and worked hard to build a life he, and his family of six women, could be proud of.
5 She started her career as an accountant
Before she decided to pursue a career in fashion and focus on her passion for style and sustainability, Rimpy was working for prestigious accounting firms. Savvy in finance, she developed a strong understanding of the fashion industry by enrolling in fashion and business courses, eventually deciding to start her own clothing line.
4 Her clothing line is 100% Canadian and made for ALL women
Regardless of your shape or size, you’ll find a feminine, free-flowing design that fits, in more ways than one. This September, the label announced that they are now offering sizes XXS-XL in all of their styles.
“I saw that there was a niche for made-in-Canada womenswear that was both comfortable and feminine,” says Rimpy, “pieces that women could wear all day long.”
3 She’s a survivor
Last December, Rimpy was involved in a serious car accident that left her temporarily paralyzed. With the support of her family, friends, and some of Vancouver’s top business leaders, she pulled through and in addition to her physical strength, Rimpy began to work on her mental strength. She decided to focus on the positive instead of the negative, working on taking her brand to the next level. During her recovery, the company expanded its customer base and exceeded order expectations.
2 She’s humble AF
Despite owning a line with retailers around the province and a world-wide consumer base, Rimpy credits her success to her diverse team and the unwavering loyalty of her followers.
“It’s definitely not a one-woman show. Even with such a large following, our entire team is humble and we share the same goals and ethics,” says Rimpy. “We believe in each other, we support each other, and respect one another. My youngest staff is 17 and my oldest 61. I would not be where I am without any of them.”
1 Her label is one of the top clothing brands in the country
With over 50,000 followers on social media, Rimpy is truly making her mark in the super competitive retail market. Through her sophisticated, and eco-conscious clothing line, she’s evolving the fashion scene in Vancouver, and throughout Canada, one piece at a time.
