6 BC Distilled Festival

The largest spirits event in Canada, the BC Distilled Festival is a great opportunity to meet the makers of the province’s best liquors, and sample a wide variety of the spirits from local distilleries like Long Table Distillery and Odd Society spirits – based in East Van! Included in this year’s festivities is a charity auction with over 30 giveaways, a whiskey masterclass, as well as a Distillers dinner! (Dates for those activities are listed online.)
5 The Railway Stage & Beer Café 85th Anniversary

The legendary Railway is turning the ripe old age of 85 and to celebrate, is putting on a full weekend of live local music!
The party kicks off on Friday, April 6th with performances by Friction Project, Aaron Trory, Sarah Wheeler, and Jazzberry Ram. The celebration will continue throughout the weekend with a Blues Brunch with Rob Montgomery, jam sessions, an intimate show by Juno Award-winners Said The Whale, and wraps up on Sunday with Vancouver indie group Hey Ocean!

2 BrickCan Lego Convention

Culture, creativity, and music come together for this colourful, new documentary on that unearths and highlights the roots of America’s diverse music history. A MacGillivray Freeman Films, this feature is narrated by none other than Morgan Freeman himself (obviously), and features Grammy Award-nominated singer and songwriter Aloe Blacc!
