8 MUSIC FESTIVALS Around British Columbia This June

Still bummed out over the sudden cancellation of #PembyFest? Squamish Valley Music Festival is also a distant memory… Well, you can always head down to Quincy, Washington for Sasquatch Music Festival which runs May 26 to 28. Headliners include Twenty One Pilots, LCD Soundsystem, Chance the Rapper, Mac Miller and more. Or keep it local and look forward to like Surrey’s FVDed in the Park in July or Salmo’s Shambhala in August. Until then, here are 8 music festivals taking place all across British Columbia this June to get you into spirit:

8 Ladner Bandfest

June 3 and 4, 2017
Delta Municipal Hall, Delta
4500 Clarence Taylor Crescent

Because of ongoing construction at Memorial Park, the 13th annual Ladner Bandfest will take place at the Delta Municipal Hall. Band enthusiasts will get to hear performances from all over the province including from The Royal Canadian Navy, The Vancouver Naval Veterans, Greater Victoria, West Vancouver and more.

7 Victoria’s Ska & Reggae Festival

June 14 to 18, 2017
Ship Point (Inner Harbour), Victoria

Headliners include Booker T. Jones, Keith & Tex, The New Groovement and Vancouver’s The Boom Booms.  There are also some free concerts, workshops and exhibitions to check out over this 4 day Ska Fest which is fully licensed and open to all ages.

6 Gibsons Landing Jazz Festival

June 16 to 18, 2017
Various venues, Gibsons Landing

The 22nd annual Gibsons Landing Jazz Festival follows an entire Jazz Week which promotes local musicians on the Sunshine Coast. Restaurants, stages, churches and more get their jazz on for this musical time of year.

5 Penticton Elvis Festival

June 22 to 25, 2017
Various venues, Penticton

Let’s rock. Everybody. Let’s rock! The Pacific Northwest turns very Elvis for its 16th annual Penticton Elvis Festival which draws in fans of the King of Rock n’ Roll from all over. Outdoor stages at Okanagan Lake feature some of the best Elvis tribute artists and performances. It’s also a competition!

4 Vancouver International Jazz Festival

June 22 to July 2, 2017
Various venues, Vancouver

It’s time for TD’s Vancouver International Jazz Festival! Coastal blues and jazz take over the city from Downtown to the North Shore, at David Lam park and in clubs, and even during Canada Day.

3 Victoria International Jazz Festival

June 23 to July 2, 2017
Various venues, Victoria

Running concurrently with Vancouver’s festival, the TD Victoria International Jazz Festival features Ziggy Marley, Tami Neilson, Nik West and more.

2 Tall Tree Music Festival

June 23 to 26, 2017
Brown’s Mountain, Port Renfrew

Southern Vancouver Island hosts its 8th Tall Tree Music Festival featuring over 75 artists including Tokyo Police Club, The Wild Romantics, Youngblood, Fox Glove, Sam Weber and more. Off-site accommodation and camping is available – there’s even glamping for those that don’t do regular camping!

1 Midsummer Music Festival

June 30 to July 2, 2017
Bulkley Valley, Smithers

Northern BC’s longest running music festival takes place on Wet’suwet’en’s First Nations land over Canada Day long-weekend. Performers include Rae Spoon, Sam Tudor, Plastik, Bad Hoo and The Yellowknife Throat Singers. The family-friendly music festival features a mix of music day and night across four stages.
