Go Canada, it’s your birthday, we gon’ party like it’s yo birthday! 150th birthday, to be exact.  We could list 150 reasons why we love living in the True North strong and free but instead, here are six celebratory events to check out!

6  YVR Food Fest: Canada Day Cook Out 
Canada Day for the foodies! YVR Food Fest is hosting a massive outdoor BBQ with amazing food (hot dogs, burgers, brisket and ribs – to name a few), beer, craft cocktails, bands and DJs!  Warning: Come hungry.

Tickets are $10, $30, or $59 and include food and beverage tokens.

5  Free Concert at Swangard Stadium 
Get in the Canadian spirit with fireworks and a free concert at Swangard Stadium headlined by Canadian music icon, Steven Page, Vancouver party band Side One, African Heritage ensemble Kokoma and Juno nominee and CBC Kids star Will Stroet.

Onsite activities include a family Zone-exhibitor tents, games, face painting and prize draws.

Make sure to wear something red! Admission is FREE.

4   Ultimate Canada Day and Night Boat Party
What better way to take advantage of the sun and heat than on a boat cruise with hundreds of fellow Canadians! Transition from dancing under the sun to dancing under the stars. Presented by Stoli, the 9th annual Ultimate Canada Day boat party is going to be one to remember – or not.

3   Canada Day 150 #onRobson
The Robson Street Business Association is teaming up with the West End Business Improvement Association to celebrate Canada’s 150 b-day in true #Canadiana form on Robson Street!

Burrard to Denman Street will be lined with tons of music, entertainment, treats, giveaways, and business promos including a ball hockey tournament hosted by Timber featuring local brewery teams!

2   Oh, Canada – The True North Strong and Funny Improv Show 
Canadians are a special group of people.  Oh, Canada – The True North Strong and Funny improv show celebrates and pokes fun at a lot of the things that make us Canadian, based on audience suggestions!

Time| 7:30pm

1   Fireworks
No Canada Day celebration is complete without fireworks!  The largest Canada Day celebration outside of Ottawa, Canada Day at Canada Place is truly something to behold and Vancouver’s only two-barge simultaneous fireworks show!

Tickets are available for the Fireworks Viewing Zone at Canada Place, aka the ‘best viewing spot’ for $15.00. Free admission for children 5 and under.

Can’t make it to Canada Place? Hate crowds? No sweat. You can also view the fireworks from Harbour Green Park, Coal Harbour, Stanley Park (9 o’clock gun), Crab Park and the West Vancouver Seawall between Ambleside and Dundarave.
