Everyone’s favourite annual summer event is back! The Fair at the PNE runs August 19 to September 4, 2017 and features amusement park rides & games, live shows, interactive attractions, agriculture, activities, a prize home, a craft beer fest, special Canada 150 displays and the super popular summer night concert series.
The Summer Night Concerts run nightly from 8:30pm at the PNE Amphitheatre. The concerts are FREE with admission to The Fair at the PNE. A limited number of reserved seats are also available for purchase online or onsite ($20). For a fun night out you can also rent a private suite (12 or 14 guests) for the concerts.
This year’s free concerts include local band Mother Mother, and classics like Chicago, Rick Springfield, ZZ Top and even Huey Lewis! There’s also a special 2-day ticketed festival on Labour Day weekend to end the PNE and say goodbye to summer featuring Alessia Cara (from the 6), Liam Payne (of One Directon fame), Train and more!

15 Mother Mother
When: August 19
Vancouver’s very own 5 piece indie rock band Mother Mother kicks off this year’s Summer Night Concert series!
14 Billy Currington
When: August 20
From working construction to trying to make it in the Nashville music scene, Billy Currington brings his Georgia and country roots to the PNE.
13 The Pointer Sisters
When: August 22
From vocal training in their father’s church to becoming a world famous female pop group known as The Pointer Sisters their debut in 1973.
12 High Valley
When: August 23
Brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel are known as High Valley from La Crete, Alberta.
11 ZZ Top
When: August 24
‘That Little Ol’ Band From Texas’ have been going strong for over 40 years. They bring their ZZ Top rock, blues and boogie to Vancouver.
When: August 25
Chicago, the infamous band from Chicago, Illinois are on their 50th anniversary tour – which is also their 50th consecutive tour!
9 Colin James
When August 26
Prairie boy Colin James is from Saskatchewan and now calls Vancouver his hometown. He lights up the stage with some blues/rock.
8 Huey Lewis & The News
When August 27
San Fran’s Grammy Award winning rock and roll band Huey Lewis & The News bring their timeless American music up North.
7 Tom Cochrane
With: Red Rider
When: August 29
Tom Cochrane is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his Mad Mad World Tour with a Canada-wide tour this summer. He stops in Vancouver at the PNE with Red Rider.
6 The B-52s
When: August 30
35 years later and still going strong, The B-52s are timeless dance-rock stars.
5 The Doobie Brothers
When: August 31
The Doobie Brothers from San Jose are known for their vocal harmonies. They were added to the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004.
4 Rick Springfield
When: September 1
Australian pop rock god Rick Springfield graces the PNE Ampitheatre with music that spans the decades.
Fun fact: the Grammy Award singer-songwriter and instrumentalist is also a record producer, author and actor. He’s starred in High Tide and General Hospital and guest appeared in HBO’s True Detective. He also appeared in FOX’s Lucifer and CW’s Supernatural – which were both filmed in Vancouver.
3 The Gipsy Kings
Featuring: Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo
Since 1989, Grammy Award-winning pop-flamenco-Latin group The Gipsy Kings have been sharing their music with the world.

Did you know? Playland, British Columbia’s most famous amusement park, on the Pacific National Exhibition fairgrounds launched its “adult-nights” this summer which ran every Friday throughout July. The PNE has been going strong since 1910 and is a staple Vancouver attraction.
