The third annual Feast on the Fraser culinary event is back in New Westminster! The 10-day food, fun, art and entertainment event series is a campaign designed to promote the best of New West small businesses and restaurants through signature events at unique spaces. There’s a dozen different foodie events to check out including long table dinners and cultural tastings.

Where: Westminster Pier Park
When: September 14, 2017
The campaign launch event invites you to a Tuscan evening at Westminster Pier Park. Piva Italian Modern opens later this fall but you get the chance to sip and savour their locally sourced rustic Italian cuisine and drinks. The outdoor feast will also feature live music. Tickets include five food station tasters, a glass of prosecco, one drink ticket and a Fraser Valley inspired charcuterie board.

Enjoy a Friday evening, Don Draper style. A Mad Men Mixer takes place at the Mid Century Modem Home shop and features a special 1950’s and 60’s theme, live DJ spinning vinyl, and period-inspired cocktails by Paddlewheeler Pub and appetizers by Wild Rice Restaurant. There’s also a themed fashion show, pin up girls and a prize for best dressed. Tickets also give you a discount on furniture in the shop.

The Port of Vancouver is hosting a FREE family-friendly festival along the Fraser River. There’s family entertainment, vendors, exhibitors, children’s activities and live music.

Queen’s Park Preschool goes Disney for an afternoon of enchanted fun. Join Belle for a fairy-tale tea party for all ages. Tickets include magical tea from Great Wall Tea Co and strawberry shortcake from Krause Berry Farms. There’s also crafts and photo ops.

Off The Eaten Track is hosting a foodie tour of Uptown New Westminster. The one-hour walking tour features stops at four locally owned restaurants and includes food sampling. You get to try Ethiopian, Malaysian, Middle Eastern and Ukrainian food all in one afternoon!

This long table dinner combines Sri Lankan art and food. The dinner includes wine and food paring at the refurbished The Gallery at Queen’s Park which will feature work from local artist Tajah Olsen.

Owner of Wild Rice, Andrew Wong, and his team are putting together an intimate cocktail and canape pairing evening with special creations. The menu features rosemary salted yam fries with roasted garlic aioli and 3 special pairings.

Travel back to the Prohibition era as 100 Braid St Studios hosts a special speakeasy themed prohibition gala. You’ll learn how to make handcrafted cocktails and mocktails from the bygone time and enjoy eats from Fork & Knife Catering. There’s a theatrical experience, live jazz music and roaring twenties dancers!

Eat Indonesian and Singaporean food the traditional ‘Nasi Padang’ way. The “family style” event features exotic dishes with steamed rice that you can eat with your hands on banana leaf. The culinary adventure around the Royal City features Pacific Breeze Winery, El Santo, Old Bavarian Haus and Thai New West. Tickets include a wine tasting, a beer and two cocktails as well as food samplings and transport.

Paddlewheeler Riverboat Tours invites you to a special dinner cruise in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday. The 3-hour evening river tour features a 3-course meal of Canadian favourites like salmon aired with Chaberton Estate Winery. Where red & white!
