A colourful neighbourhood full of character, Fraser Street has gone a noticeable transformation in recent years. Referred to many as the “new Main Street” this area has become a hot destination for many reasons, especially when it comes to food and drink.  Just 15 minutes from the downtown core, Fraser Street offers endless options of ethnic cuisine and cool independent shops. An area worth exploring where you can eat and sip to your heart’s desire. Check out the following:
10 New Bhaia Sweet Shop and Restaurant
5740 Fraser St
If you’re looking for authentic Indian food, Fraser Street is the hood to hit up.  Craving a samosa? The samosas at New Bhaia do not disappoint. In fact, they’re pretty f***** amazing. Hands-down some of the best we’ve tried.

Dosa Hut
7233 Fraser St

Two words: dosa pizza.  If  you’ve never had a dosa, 1. You’re missing out and 2. It’s essentially a giant, fermented pancake made from rice batter and lentils. In addition to being healthy, (gluten and dairy-free) it’s also a cheap eat. Dosa Hut serves up this South Indian staple in the form of a pizza and it’s pretty damn delicious.

Boba Monster
5766 Fraser St

Satisfy your sweet tooth at Boba Monster!  There are a few other bubble tea joints in the hood however Boba Monster stands out with some of their creative flavours, cute decor and friendly staff! They also have board games, including Jenga (shoutout to our childhood!), making it a fun hangout.

Lactose-intolerant? They have a soy option for an additional $0.25.

Try: Passionfruit or the Strawberry Cheesecake if you’re feeling adventurous.

Les Faux Bourgeois
663 E. 15th Avenue

We’ve called this cafe/bistro the most ‘underrated’ spot in Vancouver multiple times because it’s 100% true.

Cozy and charming with classic French offerings, Les Faux Bourgeois is (in our opinion) the closest you’ll get to experiencing a taste of France in the city.

TIP: It gets busy so we recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

Earnest Ice Cream
3992 Fraser St

I scream, you scream, we all scream for some earnestly good ice-cream.  A spot loved by many Instagrammers, Earnest specializes in creating fun and unique small-batch flavours like apple pie, blackberry coriander, bourbon peach, cinnamon heart, elderflower, miso ginger – the list is literally endless.

They also offer vegan options (the vegan chocolate is our go-to.)

Enjoy a scoop or two inside and don’t forget to take home a pint or two.

The Eastwood
4245 Fraser St

End (or start) your tour of Fraser Street at The Eastwood. Either way, this new addition to the Fraser hood has become quite the community watering-hole. If you’re looking for a place with a great bar atmosphere and great food and drinks, you’ll love The Eastwood. With big screens throughout the restaurant and bar, it’s also a good place to watch any sports game!
